Excellence in Credit Control
3-hour training by Declan Flood on Zoom for Credit Controllers and Credit Managers who take the credit control function seriously and would like to get some new ideas.
To be held from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Wednesday the 14th September 2022 for €147.
To succeed in Credit Control, you have to build your function on strong foundations, and this course will give you the step-by-step guide as to how to do this.
The starting point is the leads your sales people are following up on, I recommend you credit check the significant potential accounts before any time is wasted on pursuing customers you will never open an account for. The finishing point is always money in the bank.
This course is specially designed for anyone dealing with B2B credit. It concentrates on delivering excellence at every level. It includes walking the fine line between Finance and Sales, working together to keep customers happy, paying and buying more. The areas covered include:
Your Credit Policy – just a simple document to set out the rules is all that is needed here, that sets out your approach to risk, especially high risk potentially profitable accounts.
Your Credit Terms – are they clear, are they communicated, are they enforceable and are they enforced? Setting lines of credit for your new and existing customers beyond just a credit report. Understanding the story the figures are telling you and what to look out for.
Opening new accounts – the do’s and the don’ts.
Managing your ledger – making sure every balance has an appropriate method of collection assigned to it and bringing energy and enthusiasm to the collections process. The details for collections will be covered in the Excellence in Collections course
The importance of building strong working relationships with your contacts.
Dealing with disputes and queries – and putting procedures in place to eliminate them.
Timely follow up (Internally and Externally) – the key ingredient in successful collections.
Finally, what to do when it all seems to be going wrong – the last thing on the list is legal action that can be time consuming, expensive and ineffective.
This will be an interactive session with participants encouraged to submit their questions in advance to make sure they are answered on the day, with the more complex issues dealt on a one to one basis before or after the training.
